Greetings, and welcome to my world! I'm Christina, a multifaceted woman with a heart devoted to family, faith, and fostering meaningful connections. Here's a glimpse into the mosaic of my life.
At my core, I am a wife and a blessed mother of three wonderful individuals. As a grandmother to nine lively grandchildren, every moment spent with them is a cherished gift, an opportunity to witness the beauty of generations unfolding.
My Christian faith is the guiding light that illuminates my path. I had the privilege of embarking on a transformative journey to the Holy Land, an experience that not only deepened my spiritual roots but also inspired me to share this sacred pilgrimage with others. I hope someday serve as a travel host, leading groups on return trips to the Holy Land, creating spaces for others to encounter the profound beauty of this sacred place.
For four years, I served as the Children's Ministry leader at Grace Chapel, and for an additional two years, I took on the role of Awana director, contributing to the spiritual growth of young hearts. My commitment to the safety of our church communities led me to develop and present a church safety program to the Awana North Ohio district.
Professionally, I am an advocate for early childhood education. As the owner of a childcare and Head Start facility for 16 years, I earned my associate degree in early childhood education and the prestigious Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. I've been an active member of the NAYEC local board for several years, championing the importance of quality early childhood education.
In the midst of my professional endeavors, I spent 12 years as an emergency response dispatcher and midnight shift manager, answering calls with compassion and efficiency. A brief but impactful stint as a restaurant shift manager added another layer to my diverse skill set.
For the past six years, I've been the voice behind Christina's Carpet Bag, a blog where I communicate my experiences, insights, and discoveries. It's been a delightful platform to share the tapestry of my life, from family adventures to faith reflections.
Beyond my roles and responsibilities, I find joy in simple pleasures. I love taking leisurely walks through the woods with my husband, Bruce, and our dog, Nicodemus, appreciating the beauty of nature. And of course, there's nothing quite like spending quality time with our grandchildren, exploring and learning about God's creation together.
Join me on this journey, where every chapter is a testament to the richness of life and the enduring power of faith, family, and exploration.
