Day Two Kentucky Mission Trip

We rise and greet the day, filled with purpose. Today, our focus is on preparing nutritious lunch meals to support those in the community. Alongside this, we dedicate time to fixing plumbing and electrical issues in the kitchen and planting early crops, essential for sustaining those we serve. Before diving into our tasks, we gather for a moment of devotion and prayer, reflecting on the abundance we enjoy and questioning our desires for more. In this introspection, we ponder whether our pursuit of wants overshadows gratitude for what we already have. Does God, in His wisdom, provide solely for our needs to remind us of our privilege and prevent greed from consuming us? We are reminded that while God faithfully meets our needs, He does not promise to fulfill all our desires. Like a loving parent, He provides what is truly beneficial for us. Even when our desires are not granted, we trust in His divine provision and foresight, knowing He supplies precisely what we require in each moment. In this journey, we recognize our role as ambassadors of God's love, placed here and now to serve others. Through our faithfulness, even in challenging times, we become channels of His provision for those who seek assistance. God entrusts us with discomfort and growth opportunities to shape us into reflections of Jesus, strengthening our faith and courage along the way.
Phillipians 4:10-19 10I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. 11Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13I can do all things through him who strengthens me. 14Yet it was kind of you to sharef my trouble. 15And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. 16Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. 17Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit.g 18I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. 19And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 20To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
